Employee Relations Specialist, People & Culture Team, Reading Our Employee Relation teams are right at the heart of what we do. Surrounded by some of the best Employee Relation specialists in the industry, you’ll bring your own ideas to the business - helping to shape the experience of our customers as part of a forward-thinking team. This role focuses on delivering timely and proactive employee relations support to Retail Management teams across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will guide directors and management through various employee relations cases, provide expertise on internal policies, and offer crucial assistance in managing Employment Tribunals and Acas Early Conciliation claims. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance, conducting risk assessments, and upholding the highest standards in employee relations. The candidate will play a key role in coaching directors and management, providing support on legal considerations, and actively contributing to the success of change management initiatives. This position requires a proactive approach, ensuring consistent adherence to lessons learned and implementing necessary follow-up actions to strengthen the company's employee relations practices. What You’ll Do: In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Accountable for supporting and guiding on ER related concerns within a defined geography (usually 3-4 areas comprising 40+ stores)
- Partner with key stakeholders including Directors for Retail/ P&C, Area Managers and Store Management to support great outcomes and bring matters to a resolution
- Review ER documentation and provide feedback to stakeholders to ensure the content is clear, objective and legally compliant and manage this within the SLA timescales
- Be proactive in supporting the ER Manager in reviewing and amending all policies, procedures, templates, contracts and the handbook to reflect any legislation changes and / or best practice/ learnings from ER cases
- Carry out HR Audits and review on an ongoing basis so that it is fit for purpose and delivers improvements and protection from risk

- Strong and demonstrable experience in Employee Relations in a fast moving, multi-site organisation; including practical experience in managing day to day ER cases and change management projects
- Great up-to-date knowledge of employee relations practice and employment law
- Communicate tactfully, professionally, diplomatically and confidentially at all times, providing regular updates to stakeholders
- Be proactive and conscientious in your approach to GDPR
- Ability to coach and influence all levels of management on ER cases
