The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor for the Middle East and Europe, with the initial focus being Saudi Arabia. The candidate will be the main point of contact (based in the UK) for our ex-pat employees who are either being onboarded to live and work in Saudi or are currently employed by us in Saudi.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Provide specialist HR advice to our internal customers (individual employees/assignees, Line Managers, HR colleagues as well as other stakeholders in the global mobility process), in relation to the onboarding and retention of our ex-pat employees based in Saudi Arabia.
- This includes collating and responding to any frequently asked questions from our employees on living and working in Saudi, liaising with international schools, accommodation/ compound providers and medical providers in Saudi.
- Close liaison with the UK Saudi project team to ensure any new starters are on-boarded in accordance with operational delivery timelines, including visa/immigration.
- Close liaison with the UK Recruitment team to support in answering questions on living and working in Saudi Arabia, including details of accommodation.
- Close liaison with the UK HR Co-ordinator to ensure that any new starters/ leavers/ employment changes are communicated to payroll in a timely and legally compliant manner. To ensure any changes are registered on the HRIS system in time for payment and that and start dates/ leave dates are effectively communicated and registered.
- Develop key internal and external stakeholder relationships (e.g. Tax, Visas, Finance, Recruitment) to achieve the efficient and compliant deployment of ex-pat employees by effectively liaising across such functional teams/external experts.
Experience / skills / qualifications
- Travel to our sites in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Dharan) and Europe is an essential requirement of the role (travel would be once a year to Saudi and can be managed by the post holder to ensure it fits in with personal and operational schedules).
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proven experience in an HR Advisory role from a fast moving, multi-site business environment
- Active CIPD Membership.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Extensive HR experience and a strong, demonstrable knowledge of UK employment law.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to be accountable for own workload and work autonomously.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving/judgement skills.
- High confidence in providing a supportive HR consultancy service to all key stakeholders across the business.
- Ability to be assertive and challenge managers to be accountable in their decision making.
Desirable :
- Previous experience of supporting international contracts (ideally in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East)
