Tooling Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a specialist in Manufacture of Injection Mould Tooling based in Hull, who are looking for a Mould Tool Designer to join their growing team. The successful Mould Tool Designer will have experience of Injection Moulding, Project Management and NPI projects.
Salary: Circa £45K

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for NPI including new equipment / tool introduction and implementation, integration projects, special projects etc
- Lead and manage a supplier / toolmaker / customer relationship while respecting program timelines, cost constraints and quality requirements.
- Competently control multiple timing plans across various plants / product divisions and suppliers.
- Ensuring cost / quality led objectives are to be maintained
- Understanding of key technologies used in the manufacture of Tooling products
- Aiding project management in regard to Tooling projects
- Provide management with relevant data including regular reports.
- Ensure process equipment performance and standards achieve the measured targets and ensure that changes are recorded in relevant documents (Control Plans, Visual Aids etc)
- Ensure that methods devised for reduced set-up time, simplified fixture exchange and universal tooling improve flexibility and balance flow of the production processes, allowing efficient production in reduced lot sizes.
- Works with production and maintenance to develop improvements.
- Prepares labour/manning projections and tooling needs, performing Manufacturing feasibility reviews and FMEA’s.
- Ensure all new products are designed for manufacture and assembly.
- Supports PSO’s (Process Sign Off’s)
- Ensuring efficient processes
About You:
- Minimum standard GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (grade C or above)
- Qualified at HNC level or equivalent in any relevant Engineering discipline.
- Understanding of Mold tool process parameters, cause, and effect of changes.
- High level of PC Skills – Microsoft Office (intermediate – advanced)
- A strong ability to produce technical reports.
- To be willing to travel globally for tooling trials and sign off.
