About the Role:

Who are we, and what do we do?

You may not have heard of us, but there’s a good chance you’ve enjoyed our products. Avara Foods is one of the UK’s leading food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to the country’s major supermarkets and well-known restaurants. 

We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door – meaning we have careers that cover a whole range of functions. We have major processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms, spanning from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales.

A little about our Tram Inn Mill:

Tram Inn Mill is one of our busiest feed mills, nestled in the heart of Herefordshire, boasting a dedicated workforce of around 36 individuals, we pride ourselves on our ability to produce over 8,000 tonnes of high-quality feed per week. Serving as the nucleus of our agriculture team, Tram Inn Mill is not only a production facility but also a centre for collaboration, hosting numerous training sessions and meetings for our esteemed colleagues.

About the Role:

What will you be doing as a Raw Materials Coordinatorat Avara?

As a Raw Materials Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration within the department. You will be a support for the Raw Materials Manager and be required to work closely with various departments within Avara Foods, as well as external customers and suppliers.

What will your key responsibilities a Raw Materials Coordinatorinclude? 

•Answering any queries into the Feed mill via phone or email
•Daily communication with Raw material suppliers and hauliers
•Various data entry using a variety of applications
•Answering invoice queries
•General administrative duties as required 
•Working closely with different departments within the business, including the Mill Management team and Mill Production staff.
•Placing orders onto our computerised system as advised by the Raw Materials Manager
•Providing cover when the Raw Material Manager is away. 

What you’ll need to be successful:  


•Proven ability to learn quickly, using your own initiative, with little supervision
•GCSE in Math's and English or equivalent.
•Intermediate IT Skills and good knowledge of Excel 
•Previous experience in an administrative role
•Proven organisational skills, including time management and prioritisation 
•Numerate and analytical with an eye for detail 
•Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
