Apprentice (Civil Engineer Degree) Strategic Highways Are you interested in designing and building things? Are you passionate about shaping the world around you? Then a degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering could be for you!
Civil engineering is a profession that deals with the planning, design, development, and management of engineering projects in a wide variety of disciplines covering both the physical and natural environment. As a Civil Engineer, you will improve and protect the environment in which we live, and it is a career where you can really make a difference.
As an Apprentice (Civil Engineer Degree), you will develop skills, knowledge and experience working in Strategic Highways and will train towards a Degree in Civil Engineering.
You will be based primarily in the Highways Assets Section but a structured training programme will enable you to gain experience, further education and broad base skills within other sections including Highway Network Management, Highway Structures, Drainage and Coastal Protection and Street Lighting.
What qualification will I gain?You will study towards the Civil Engineer Level 6 standard with Northumbria or Teeside University.
What will I need?Level 3 qualifications meeting 112 UCAS points one of which must be Mathematics at Grade B (6) and another analytical science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Physics or Technology), or recognised equivalents or an equivalent eg A Levels and BTEC extended diplomas are accepted
Level 2 qualification covering English and Maths eg GCSE’s Grade 4 or above and functional skills are accepted
