Contract: Until March 2025 with a possible extension
Hours: Full Time
Responsible to: Prison Pathway Lead
Framework pay scale: £28,407 to £34,581
The Prison Engagement Practitioner will be responsible for actively engaging with service users within the prison setting.
Key duties include conducting one-on-one sessions, facilitating the transition from prison to community, and providing emotional and practical support to promote rehabilitation.
The role involves assessing individual needs, developing tailored plans, and collaborating with prison staff to implement effective strategies. Additionally, a Prison Engagement Practitioner will liaise with the core services within Clean Slate Criminal Justice Substance Misuse Services to support the smooth transition from prison to a community setting with the aim of contributing to their successful reintegration into society upon release.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial in building rapport with service users and fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
Access to own transport is required, as this post requires travel to various establishments throughout the East Midlands.
*Please note: this role is dependent on the post holder gaining enhanced security clearance, which includes full criminal records check of both spent and unspent convictions. Failure to pass the vetting process will result in the role being rescinded.
