The Role
We have a unique opportunity for a full-time or part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our long-established friendly team here in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
Your time will be split between 1st opinion consultations and theatre work, providing a varied workload. Our current team have a wealth of experience and hope to support those with varied experience levels. The standard full-time rota consists of working a 4.5-day week (Monday to Friday) with 1:3 weekends which consist of Saturday morning 8:30am to 12pm with time back in lieu. This however is fully flexible depending on your circumstances as we can accommodate a non-weekend rota. We are also in a fortunate position to be able to offer a number of rota patterns including child/school friendly rotas, non-weekend rotas and mixed morning and afternoon focused rotas to fit around your lifestyle.Work-life balance that works for you
We are happy to discuss both full-time and part-time rota variations that flex with you and your lifestyle as we know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it easy for you to strike the right balance.
Salary is up to £70,000 per annum depending on experience, pro rata for part time. Plus, up to £5000 relocation allowance and up to £5000 welcome bonusAbout Us
Riverside Vets has been in Spalding for over 100 years and in that time has built up an exceptional reputation for its client and patient care. We are a 100% small animal, 1st opinion practice that is accredited with the RCVS and holds the silver ISFM award. Our team is well-established, and we pride ourselves on our professionalism and teamwork. Spalding is a large market town on the Welland River in south Lincolnshire, it has a surplus of small attractions, like Britain’s tallest windmill, an authentic blacksmith’s forge and Medieval churches. However, if you enjoy the hustle and bustle of the big city, you can make the easy commute and be in London city within 2 hours.
About the Team and Culture
Our friendly team consists of 4 experienced Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses and 3 Veterinary Receptionists. Between our Veterinary Surgeons, they have a keen interest in Acupuncture, cardiology, and Ophthalmology. We are proud to say our team is much more like a family and we have an embedded ethos of encouragement and support throughout the practice. We are a busy practice and therefore we can be faced with challenges, but we are always there to help each other get through. This is a very rewarding role and one with autonomy that you can very much make your own.

We don’t mind if you are fresh out of vet school looking for your first role, or have many years of experience behind you, we have an opportunity here for you. Our biggest requirements are that you’re an avid team player, passionate about the work you do, have an excellent bedside manner and a positive can-do attitude. We are ultimately looking for the right individual to complement our existing team.
