Job description
Our client is a leading organisation dedicated to driving sustainable and environmentally responsible initiatives. They specialize in large–scale ESG projects, with a focus on renewable energy and environmental conservation. As they continue to expand their impact, they are seeking a highly motivated Finance Director to join their team and lead efforts in securing lending and equity funding for their ambitious projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify Funding Opportunities:
- Research and identify potential lending and equity funding opportunities for ESG projects, both domestically and internationally.
- Stay informed about government funding programs and initiatives supporting renewable energy and sustainability projects.
2. Build and Maintain Relationships:
- Establish and cultivate relationships with Joint Venture Capitalists, institutional investors, and key players in the equity funding markets.
- Collaborate with financial institutions, private equity firms, and other funding sources to secure partnerships and investment commitments.
3. Develop Funding Proposals:
- Prepare comprehensive and compelling funding proposals to attract investment for ESG projects.
- Customize proposals to meet the specific criteria of various funding sources and investors.
4. Coordinate Due Diligence:
- Work closely with internal teams to gather necessary information for due diligence processes.
- Collaborate with legal and financial experts to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
5. Negotiate Funding Terms:
- Lead negotiations with potential lenders and investors to secure favorable terms for funding agreements.
- Work to optimize financial structures that align with the goals of both the organization and funding partners.
6. Stay Informed on Industry Trends:
- Stay abreast of trends and developments in renewable lending, equity funding, and the ESG space.
- Analyze market conditions and provide strategic insights to the leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in fundraising, finance, or a related field, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
- Extensive network in the financial industry, including Joint Venture Capitalists, institutional investors, and equity funding markets.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross–functional teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
