The business: We are delighted to be working with a new regional office for an established engineering consultancy which has recently been established in Bath. Since opening this new office, this business has grown a talented and diverse design team form high respected local consultancies. The business has circa 50 staff in total with 6 currently in the Bath office.
The role: You will be working alongside senior engineers and technicians from a number of offices, on the structural designs of developments in logistics, warehousing, multi-storey residential, and commercial sectors on a wide range of scales. The civil and structural teams work very closely so you will also benefit from gaining knowledge of infrastructure design
Key responsibilities:
- 3D modelling, hand and digital calculations
- Report writing
- Attending design team meetings
- Site visits accompanied by a mentor
- Supporting the running of the structural side of the business
- Ensuring timely technical delivery on small projects while assisting with the delivery of aspects of larger schemes
- Building and maintaining good relationships with clients, architects and contractors
- Taking an active role in developing your experience and achieving career objectives
- Acting as the lead point of contact on smaller structural projects gradually increasing in size commensurate with experience
- Building the company’s profile by attending networking and industry events
- Detailed design and analysis duties on building structures from a range of sectors
- Working closely with and supporting senior engineers
- Undertaking site visits, supporting site managers on technical issues
- Obtaining a good understanding of issues on site and devising and providing solutions
- Working towards chartered status and completing key objectives
As a graduate engineer you will gain ownership and responsibility for projects quickly, but will always have the close support from senior staff. As the Bath office has been open for nearly 2 years, and in joining at this point in time, you will have the opportunity to affect the initial shape of the office and the continued development of the company as a whole. Your input, involvement and participation in this will be encouraged and welcomed.

- £25,000 - £30,000
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing with service)
