We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Newmarket, Suffolk for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full or part time basis. This role is to provide cover over a Maternity leave from June 2023 - February 2023 but there is an opportunity for it to become permanent.
- Type: Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
- Hours: Full time - 4 day week 8am - 7pm. Part time hours are flexible
- Weekends: One weekend of day shifts per month or a 1:3 Saturday morning and 1:6 weekend day shift rota
- TOIL: N/A
- OOH: There is an opportunity for occasional night shifts at the 24hr site for a Vet interested in ECC
- Computer System: Merlin
- Consultations: 15 Minutes
- Team: Large Veterinary team
- Up to £63,000 per annum pro rata commensurate to experience
The role
- Permanent Veterinary Surgeon
- Full time working 4 days per week between 8am to 7pm
- Part time ours are flexible and can be discussed
- There is a shared weekend rota. This is flexible and more weekends can be provided if this suited the Vet. Typically the rota is one weekend of day shifts per month or alternately there can work to a 1:3 Saturday morning and 1:6 weekend day shift rota.
- For a Vet who is interested in ECC there is the opportunity should they want to work the occasional night shift at their 24hr site.
- The role offers a mixture if consultations and surgery. They Vet will have the opportunity to follow up own cases and the practice prefer case continuity
- Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays
- The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
- The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.
About them:
- This is an established 1 st opinion small animal practice
- They have a team of 3 Vets within the branch and a large team spread across three other sites
- They have certificate holding Surgeons allowing a large amount of knowledge sharing
- They offer in patient care and have facilities including a CT scanner, video endoscopy, dental radiography, x-ray and an in-house laboratory at their 24hr site
- They offer clinical freedom to Vets enabling them to manage their own cases. They hold regular case discussions where knowledge is shared. They offer a varies case load
- They offer the opportunity for a Vet to build up their own client base
- They offer ongoing support from certificate holding surgeons and CPD and areas of special interest are encourage and supported
- They offer 15-minute consultations and schedule in admin time into the diary each day so the Vet has time for phone calls etc.
- They have a large and friendly team and pride themselves on providing a high quality of care to all of their clients.
- The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.
