Job Introduction
As a Lead Engineering Deputy, you are an integral part of our team ensuring the safe operation and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment on-site. You'll lead a team, coordinating planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works, ensuring compliance, and promoting energy-saving initiatives.
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical leadership to the maintenance team, ensuring a collaborative approach.
- Undertake planned and reactive maintenance works, demonstrating high-level technical expertise.
- Co-ordinate labour, ensuring delivery of planned preventative maintenance.
- Manage provision of reactive maintenance services during and outside operating hours.
- Conduct routine and ad-hoc audits to maintain compliance and quality standards.
- Assist in the operation of the Permit to Work System and develop systems for optimal plant maintenance.
- Encourage and participate in energy-saving schemes, promoting economic energy use.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and recommend nominations.
- Maintain and manage the Asset database and utilize IT systems for data management.
- Collaborate with the SHEQ team to uphold health, safety, and quality standards.
What you bring:
- IOSH Managing Safety certification.
- HND, NVQ, or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Preferably 10 years of experience in building services and plant engineering, with at least 5 years in a maintenance craftsman role.
- Previous appointment as an Authorized Person in relevant disciplines.
- Understanding of Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Numeracy and computer literacy.
- Membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management (desirable).
