The need has arisen for an Account Manager (Senior Account Handler) to join the team in a highly visible role. Your duties will include:
• Playing a key role in the day-to-day management of a varied portfolio of clients, with individual accounts generating minimum commissions
and fees of £5K.
• Dealing with clients from a wide range of industry sectors (both blue and white collar), and advising on the full suite of commercial covers.
• Scrutinising clients’ business activities and developing a robust insurance programme that appropriately mitigates risks.
• Whilst not a sales role, remaining alert to opportunities to cross and up-sell ancillary covers when in clients’ interest.
• Producing a range of MI, reports and associated documentation to assist Account Executives and Directors.
• Negotiating with insurers, preparing renewals, conducting MTA’s and answering general queries.
• As a senior member of the team, helping out with (both formally and on an ad hoc basis) any less-experienced colleagues.
We welcome applications from Senior Handlers, as well those Commercial Handlers / Brokers and Underwriters who are confident in their ability to step up into a more senior position. Essential requirements include:
• Being proficient in the use of the Acturis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Good written communication skills and the ability to deliver a range of information in a clear, concise and professional fashion.
• Sound knowledge of all common commercial covers, with progress made towards professional qualifications being advantageous.
• Being meticulous, with a keen eye for detail, self-organised and having excellent task-management skills.
• A high degree of self-initiative, an ability to learn quickly, and a natural curiosity for your clients’ businesses and the issues that affect them.
In return, you will receive a basic salary that is anticipated to be £30K-50K (although this is negotiable for outstanding candidates) and a host of company benefits including a 6% bonus, PMI, PHI, DIS and a generous pension arrangement. If desired, you will receive support towards professional qualifications under the CII and, for the ambitious, you will benefit from a myriad of opportunities for progression – for example moving into Account Executive, managerial or technical roles.
