An exciting opportunity to join the team at Oasis Academy Sholing

Oasis Academy Sholing is seeking to appoint an inspiring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teacher of Geography to join an extremely successful and talented team. You will support our growing department and the Principal, staff, and our students as we ‘Strive for Excellence’.

The Geography department is an enthusiastic team of teachers with a vision to ensure the students develop place knowledge, skills, empathy and a curiosity for learning. There is a shared curriculum reflecting all aspects of the National Curriculum alongside relevant and current place knowledge. Fieldwork is important to encourage this vision, and Geography is a hugely successful option at GCSE. Within the department there is collaborative planning, sensible and focussed marking and assessment practices. There are numerous CPD opportunities within the department, school, and nationally, which make this an inspiring, exciting, and supportive place to work and develop your career.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT or experienced teacher looking to make a difference in the lives of young people. The role and what we are looking for

The successful candidate will be required to teach Geography at KS3 and KS4 to the highest standard and make a positive difference in Academy life. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and support of extra-curricular activities within the Academy is essential. You must be able to use a range of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate our students and demonstrate a commitment to sharing best practice with colleagues in the department. A passion for geography and a commitment to integrating it across the curriculum is paramount.
