Job description

About the role: A unique opportunity has arisen to join Next as our Brand Marketing Design Manager. This role will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our brand from a Design perspective. Their responsibilities will include interpreting existing concepts, crafting unique identities and collaborating closely with online teams for support. They will also be the owners and developers of our brand new brand guidelines, helping implement and enforcing the guidelines across the business. They will ensure all aspects of Graphics for retail are to the highest standard. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Manager from an in house or agency background who is looking for a new challenge in an exciting, fast paced environment. We offer hybrid working with part of the week working at our head office in Leicestershire and part of the week working remotely. Key responsibilities include: Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring a design team Assign projects and tasks to team members, considering their strengths and expertise. Project Management: Initiate and manage creative design projects from conception to completion, ensuring they align with the Next’s goals and objectives. Define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables within budget Monitor project progress and allocate resources effectively. Brand Consistency: Ensure that all design materials and assets maintain brand consistency Review and approve design work to guarantee alignment with the brand's visual identity. Creative Ideation: Collaborate with the design team to generate creative ideas and concepts for various projects, campaigns, and marketing materials. Quality Control: Review and critique design work to ensure it meets high-quality standards and is error-free. Provide constructive feedback to designers to help them improve their work. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and sales, to understand their design needs and objectives. Translate business goals into effective design strategies and solutions. Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for design projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control. Trends and Technology Awareness: Stay up-to-date with design industry trends, emerging technologies, and software tools, and assess their potential impact on Next’s design work. Agency Management: If needed, oversee relationships with external design agencies or freelancers, ensuring that they deliver work that aligns with our standards. Training and Development: Identify training and development needs for the design team, and facilitate training programs to enhance their skills and capabilities. About you: Solid and proven experience of managing teams Degree in Graphic Design (or equivalent) In depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma will be beneficial Working experience of a CMS is beneficial, but training will be given A designed portfolio of existing creative work
