Job description
The Deputy Manager is responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager in all aspects of the nursery's operations. This includes ensuring that the nursery provides a safe and stimulating environment for children, that all relevant legislation and regulations are met, and that the nursery's high standards of care and education are maintained..
Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence
- Assist the Nursery Manager with setting and implementing objectives and policies for the nursery
- Promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to both parents, staff, and visitors
- Lead a team and ensure good practice at all times
- Observe and assess children's development and progress
- Contribute to the nursery's continuous improvement
- Supervise and support nursery staff
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Early Years qualification Level 5 or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a daycare nursery
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Skills
- Designated Officer training
- First Aid
