Job description
In the initial 24 months period the successful applicant will learn the key skills to become a mechanical / electro fitter. They will be given the opportunity to develop practical and theoretical knowledge both at college and within the workshop at Voith.
Key learning areas will include: working safely and efficiently in an engineering environment, the use interpretation and communication of technical information. Hand fitting and machining techniques. Maintenance and testing of mechanical components. Electrical and mechanical science. Mathematics for engineers.
You will gain experience of working in our modern workshops and get first-hand experience of our cutting edge working practices; you will be supported during your apprenticeship by experienced and friendly work colleagues who will support you as you progress through the stages of you apprenticeship with us.
You will attend Kingston College to complete your Engineering Apprenticeship. During your apprenticeship you will achieve the following qualifications.
Completion of the Apprenticeship is designed to be recognised by relevant Professional Engineering Institutions at the appropriate level of professional registration (EngTech). This will provide you a solid platform to develop in a career in Engineering.
