The Ayrshire Hospice is coming to the most exciting phase of our “once in a lifetime” Capital Build project, whichwill ensure that we are prepared to meet the needs of our community long into the future. Everything we do isabout making today matter and our patients and family's voices are at the heart of our Hospice.

Upon the much-anticipated move back “home”, we are looking for someone dynamic, knowledgeable and forward-thinkingwho will lead and advise on the set up and maintenance of our brand-new Hospice building as well as our othercommercial properties.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to lead the Estates & Facilities Service and as such we arelooking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious individual to work as our Head of Facilities andProperty Management. You will introduce new processes, procedures & partnerships to adopt the higheststandards of health & safety to ensure successful ongoing operation of the Hospice. You will be responsiblefor the overall management of our buildings including the management of hard and soft services, health andsafety and statutory compliance and have budgetary management of expenditure.

About You

This important role calls for strong organisational and communication skills with a high degree of planning andattention to detail. Significant experience in the facilities management sector is essential. The successfulcandidate will also have strong financial skills and be able to work well under pressure. You will also haveexcellent communication skills and be able to prioritise and work under pressure.

The Ayrshire Hospice provides quality specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting illness withinAyrshire and Arran. We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, aswell as in the hospice itself. This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families. What We Are Looking For

Join our dedicated team at The Ayrshire Hospice and become an integral part of our commitment to providingexceptional care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. We are currently seeking a passionate Charge Nurse tojoin our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team at our 11-bedded In-Patient Unit (IPU).

This is an opportunity for a compassionate nurse to lead our team with professionalism and empathy. As a ChargeNurse, you will play a pivotal role in providing guidance and support to our healthcare professionals, ensuringthat our patients receive the highest standard of care.

We offer great training, support and development to all our staff with regular PDP reviews, reflection sessions andinhouse training. Within our IPU, we have an excellent nurse to patient ratio which allows staff the ability togive individuals the care they require and provide support to them and their families. The Charge Nurse willwork alongside nurses, doctors, clinical pharmacist, social workers and allied health professionals to providecare for patients who may have been referred for symptom management, MDT assessment, Nursing care, Respite andend of life care.

We are currently based within East Ayrshire Community Hospital in Cumnock on a temporary basis until the completionof building work within our previous base at Racecourse Road in Ayr (Winter 2024). We will then return to abespoke and specifically designed unit (12 beds) which will have all the requirements to care for our patientsin the best way possible.

About the role

This role is key to developing a solid foundation to facilitate the growth of services delivered by volunteersthrough the creation of a fulfilling and positive volunteer experience.

You’ll be responsible for the budget and managing a team of 5 part-time community-based volunteer experiencespecialists (based across the 4 nations).

You’ll also be working with key stakeholders from across the organisation i.e. volunteers, services, people andculture, finance, IT, governance and legal, fundraising and research so those staff that work alongsidevolunteers as well as those volunteers that themselves lead volunteers, have access to up-to-date informationand resources.

A key focus will be to encourage greater diversity within our networks, so they reflect the communities in which theyserve, as well as empowering our lead volunteers through encouraging mentoring and engagement between volunteernetworks.

About you

About the Role : We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide inspirational regional teamleadership for designated Regional and Area Associations and local volunteers. In this role, you will drive thedelivery of outstanding member benefits, sports, and leisure events at a local level using member insightgathered from local members.

Responsibilities:

At CSSC, we must ensure that our offer, both locally and nationally, provides our members with a great experience andenables them to do the things they love. To help us achieve this, you will:

• Support volunteers in delivering a regional and local programme aligned with CSSC's strategy, mission, vision,and values.

• Use the local member insight to deliver what our members are looking for, as well as introduce them to newopportunities and activities.

• Ensure adherence to operating processes, framework, and legislation.

• Enhance volunteer skills and experiences, celebrate volunteering, and attract new volunteers to CSSC.

• Collaborate with the Regional Chair and volunteers to monitor progress, attend local meetings, and evaluate thedelivery of activities and events.

• Foster effective networking and collaboration across the team, champion best practice and seek out new ideas andways of doing things.

• Attract, recruit, and induct new volunteers to ensure confidence and excellent service provision for ourmembers.

• Ensure key volunteering roles have potential successors, retaining and developing the services and commitment ofvolunteers with CSSC.

About You:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Full UK driving license (travel required).

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in volunteer management (not essential but advantageous).

• Experience with building and working with high-performing teams.

• Working knowledge of CRM and digital Event Management Systems.

Ideally, candidates will have experience of leading a team within a residential child care environment involving aresidential shift rota. You will be required to have or be willing to work towards the qualifications for beinga manager in a residential childcare facility: a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 9 or aboveplus a management qualification at SCQF level 8 or above.
