Job description

Bradford Refugee Forum supports asylum seekers, refugees and refugee community groups in Bradford. 

We are looking for someone with financial knowledge to join our board of trustees as Treasurer.

What will you be doing?

What you will be doing:

• Book keeping

• Cash handling, processing receipts and making payments

• Producing quarterly financial reports and presenting them to the board of trustees

• Producing accounts for the Charity Commission in line with their requirements

• Claiming back Gift Aid

• Attending online monthly board meetings to take part in the running and ongoing development of BRF and its projects (third Monday of each month, 4-5pm)

What are we looking for?

Role requirements:

• Knowledge and ability in accounting and finance practices
• Knowledge of legal requirements and financial duties of charities
• Understanding and acceptance of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.

This is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for asylum seekers, refugees and refugee community groups. Your contribution will help keep Bradford Refugee Forum on track financially and keep us viable. As part of the board of trustees, you will have a real opportunity to offer your skill set to develop ideas and projects to best support refugees in Bradford.
