Job Summary:
The Specialist Resilience Housing Coordinator will provide specialist casework to applicants experiencing domestic abuse.
The Homeless Casework Service was established to help applicants who are homeless or living in temporary accommodation to move into suitable and sustainable housing. The Resilience team works collaboratively with partners to move households into suitable housing and improve housing sustainment.
The Resilience Team will also embed safeguarding best practices across the Housing Advisory Service.
They must have expert knowledge of welfare housing and homelessness policy legislation and practice as well as specialist knowledge of Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding policy and practice.
Key Duties/Accountabilities:
To provide specialist homelessness casework to survivors of domestic abuse ensuring that all aspects of casework are carried out in accordance with legislation strategies policies and initiatives set out at the national regional and local level through effective and regular case work supervision advice guidance and support.
Help ensure the survivors safety through appropriate and timely interventions into incidents of female genital mutilation forced marriage and honourbased violence.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve outcomes for domestic abuse survivors with housing needs.
To ensure our duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act are met delivering a proactive person centred outcome focused and end to end case management approach.
To undertake comprehensive assessments that lead to focused and coproduced Personal Housing Plans (PHP) for each applicant.
To assess applicants under the prevention and relief duties issue S.184 final decision letters ensuring effective communication and management of expectations with customers.
As appropriate undertake the assessment and completion of highquality risk management plans for applicants utilising information from a range of stakeholders and the applicant themselves.
To minimise risk by identifying reporting and following up any safeguarding concerns.
Possess and maintain an ongoing indepth knowledge of relevant welfare and housing legislation and the Council s statutory housing duties policies and procedures.
Provide advice and guidance to applicants by responding effectively and efficiently to enquiries maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer care.
Create and maintain accurate GDPR compliant client records and notes of all casework activities and decisions through both manual and IT recording systems.
Coordinate the provision of services and support for applicants in line with the PHP liaising with other teams and both internal and external services.
Attend various multiagency meetings as required such as MARAC (multiagency risk assessment conference).
Essential Experience Required:
Significant experience of providing specialist homelessness casework to homeless applicants with more complex needs such as survivors of domestic abuse.
Significant experience of working collaboratively to improve outcomes for homeless applicants with more complex needs such as survivors of domestic abuse.
Ability and experience to consistently deliver high levels of customer service to homeless applicants with more complex needs such as survivors of domestic abuse.
Ability and experience of consistently achieving performance objectives in the provision of specialist homelessness casework.
Significant knowledge of welfare homelessness and housing policy strategies legislation and case law and its implementation within a statutory homelessness service.
Significant knowledge of domestic abuse and safeguarding best practice including policy strategies legislation and case law and its implementation within a statutory homelessness service.

This position is cover for a vacant post.
This position is hybrid 1 day per week required in the office and the rest of the week can be carried out remotely.
