The post holder will ensure that high quality nursing care is delivered within their designated clinical area.
The post holder will assist in setting the standards of clinical practice, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, and will monitor patient outcomes.
The post holder will have ongoing responsibility for the operational effectiveness of their designated clinical area, being present in their clinical area, in conjunction with the Lead Diabetes Specialist Clinician
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivatedBand 7 Diabetes SpecialistNurseto join our dynamic and friendly Diabetes team.
You will be joining our well-established and expanding team, which offers a range of diabetes specialist services including Continuous Glucose Monitoring, insulin pump services, structured education courses (BERTIE), MDT foot services, Young Person clinics and diabetes antenatal clinics.
Our team consists of diabetes specialist nurses, diabetes dietitians, specialist psychologist, diabetes podiatrists and our diabetes consultants. You will be working closely with the community diabetes services.
Our diabetes in-patient service continues to expand in line with the increasing number of people with diabetes. An interest in inpatient diabetes care and management is essential for this post.
The successful applicant must have prior experience in caring for people with diabetes. You must be self-motivating, organised, computer literate and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to continued personal development.
The successful candidate would be expected to work within the team of diabetes specialist nurses providing care for in-patients and outpatients with diabetes. The role will also include delivering education sessions to ward nurses and health care assistants and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure timely and safe discharge for patients with diabetes.
