Permanent contract | £21,182.83 to £23,829.32 per annum (Scale I/J) | 22.5 hours per week | Northern Locality - based at Meditrina House, Fakenham
Level 1: £21,182.83 to £22,285.94 per annum (Scale I)
Level 2: £22,704.32 to £23,829.32 per annum (Scale J)
We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.
For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council we promise to try and match or better your existing salary, providing its in the spectrum of the grade advertised.

We are looking for qualified and enthusiastic Social Workers to join our Northern Locality Adult Community Care Team, of Practice Consultant, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Assistant Practitioners, based at our offices at Meditrina House in Fakenham.
We are located in the beautiful area of North Norfolk with 45 miles of stunning coastline, Blue Flag beaches, the unique Deep History Coast and breath-taking countryside. North Walsham and Fakenham are Norfolk Market Towns, keeping the traditional weekly market alive, alongside numerous small independent businesses, cafes, high street names and multiple supermarkets. They have a range of nurseries, schools and colleges with good and outstanding Ofsted reports, new housing developments and sporting and social facilities. Both towns have excellent bus networks into Norwich, and North Walsham has the additional value of being on the Sheringham to Norwich railway line. Norwich even has its own International Airport – a short hop to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol enables you to travel the world!
We have embraced the Living Well approach, having been one of the first localities to adopt this way of working, and have embedded the value of individuals strengths, family and community support, to enable people to remain as independent and resilient as possible. This is ongoing work - to develop strong community links as well as maintaining the relationships with our ‘traditional’ service providers of care agencies, day centre providers, and residential and nursing homes. We are looking to recruit new team members who are committed to working with our service user group of people over 65 years and younger adults with Physical Disabilities, to support and enable the best possible life outcomes.
To undertake person-centred assessments and to empower individuals to make choices that promote their health, well-being and independence.
To work collaboratively with people who have complex needs to formulate support plans that maximise abilities, enable individuals to make choices and to work towards their
identified goals.
To provide an integrated approach to assessment and providing care with key partners.
Ideally, you will have a good understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity and Best Interest work, Safeguarding and be computer literate. Our offices are co-located with our health colleagues, enabling a mutually supportive MDT approach to working with the people of North Norfolk. We have strong links with our GP surgeries and multi-agency teams who work across the locality.

This large area encompasses 45 miles of stunning coastline, beaches, and rolling countryside including parts of the Broads National Park and several stately homes. Seaside resorts include Wells-next-the-Sea, Cromer and Sheringham. Rural market towns include Fakenham, Holt, Aylsham, North Walsham and Acle.
