What you'll be doing
We are looking for an Assistant Company Secretary to ensure good governance principles / practices are embedded into ways of working at CHP and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, working closely with the Head of Governance and Assurance to develop and maintain documents associated with the Company Secretariat.
- Assist the Head of Governance and Assurance in ensuring high standards of governance across CHP and its subsidiaries, demonstrating compliance with its adopted Code of Governance. Also ensuring the effective implementation and monitoring of the Governance Framework and Board Effectiveness Framework.
- Support the Head of Governance and Assurance in governance matters such as arranging and minuting of meetings, communicating with Board Members and the provision of advice.
- Assist the Head of Governance and Assurance in the drafting of governance related papers for submission to Board and Committee meetings.
- Assist the Head of Governance and Assurance in the preparation for periodic in-depth assessment (IDA) inspections.
- Remain up-to-date with relevant legislation, trends, local and national initiatives to assist in the promotion of awareness across CHP.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Experience of working within affordable social housing environment and familiarity with relevant compliance and regulatory regime.
- Knowledge of corporate governance and data protection law.
- Administrative experience and information gathering.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to operate a range of IT tools and applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work at all levels across the organisation.
- Experience of note taking of formal meetings and providing accurate minutes.
