The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges. Working on introducing and implementing of various digital technologies across the manufacturing business, this is a dynamic role where you will deploy a mix of Digital technology skills, project management and manufacturing improvement expertise. As the Digitalisation Lead you will support the sites to maximise the digital value realisation, utilisation and benefits by deploying innovative and efficient digital transformation solutions and technologies within manufacturing. You will provide an overall technical vision and recommendations for Digital Transformation Solutions ensuring alignment and integration with existing technologies.
You will design, describe, and manage the related solutions to bridge the gap between business challenges and available technologies .
- Collaborate with site staff, regional leadership teams and external suppliers to lead and facilitate digital transformation projects (digital manufacturing/Industry 4.0/Smart Factory/CI projects).
- Work closely with Group IT to ensure the solutions comply with IT regulations, ensuring alignment and integration with existing technologies.
- Provide recommendations for innovative digital transformation technologies and solutions with the most efficient architecture and highest business and financial benefits.
- Identify opportunities where digital technologies could add value and implement suitable solutions to solve key business challenges (Productivity increase, cost reduction, enhance innovation and resilience, sustainability initiatives etc.).
- Explore opportunities to partner with external vendors to pilot and scale new technologies and solutions, coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilise existing Microsoft Suite technologies (and other technologies as necessary), such as Teams, SharePoint, Forms, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI etc to improve business processes across all the functions.
- Promote Digital awareness among employees through workshops, demos, knowledge sharing sessions and collaborations across the GBU and across the Morgan Group.
- Manage projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring successful change management and adoption.
- Participate in global continuous improvement, technology and manufacturing process events, as required.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Science or Technical Discipline or equivalent work experience
- Experience and knowledge of advanced and emerging digital technologies in the manufacturing space - IIoT, AR/VR, Data Analytics, Machine Learning/AI/RPA (Experience in all areas not necessary but a good understanding of these technologies and applications required)
- Innovative mindset with the ability to recognise improvement opportunities and deliver creative solutions
- Possesses a continuous learning mindset and has the ability to research and implement new technologies as required
- Project Management experience is essential, with the ability to manage the full lifecycle of the project (PRINCE2 / APM / PMI / LEAN Six Sigma qualification preferred)
- Experience/certification in Microsoft Power P latform (Power Apps / Power Automate / Power BI)
- Knowledge and experience applying ISA-95 framework will be favourable
- LEAN Six Sigma / Robotic Automation / SCADA / PLC knowledge/experience will be favorable
- Quality orientation and high attention to detail
- Proficient in standard software packages and capable of learning new systems as required
- Must have the determination and motivation to drive digital transformation across the business
- Working knowledge of EHS standards and a safety-first mindset
- Must be capable of some regional and international travel
