Job description
You will be part of an operational Road and Lighting team responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Glasgow’s Road and Street Lighting infrastructure.
You will have good communication skills, awareness of Health and Safety, the ability to deal with the public and see tasks through to completion.
You must also be prepared to work in a physically demanding role in all weather conditions.
Reporting to the shift supervisor, the post holder will support the delivery of the NRS Roads Maintenance programmes; to comply with the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 statutory duty to manage, maintain and improve the City’s surface street network and deliver the Council’s strategic priorities.
The post holder will conduct maintenance and improvement works including road repairs, excavations, reinstatements, iron works, drainage, kerbing and the installation of traffic management, whilst operating a variety of plant and equipment.
Training will be provided where required and the post holder should be enthusiastic for self-development future ambition with a can-do attitude.
