Job description

As our Solutions Architect you will work with the Digital Leadership and wider delivery team to design, build and integrate solutions to meet our business needs at a time of significant strategic transformation and growth.

This role will be crucial in influencing and promoting the use our of technology to deliver enhancements as well as new capability to the business. This role will also support the continuous enhancement of our development processes as well as partnerships with technology providers.

The role will involve a mix of business and commercial knowledge, as well as technical, to identify the right technology approach, solutions, providers, and integrations to deliver against our needs and goals in the short and long term.

The primary focus will be on technical decisions being made for our core solutions, either 3 rd party or developed via our 3 rd party development team and working with them to execute on those decisions.

Finally, the role will have a remit covering both internal technology solutions as well as those created for partners, a broad range, across back-office technology through to frontend digital solutions.

Key skills/Experience

• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build lasting relationships with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in development practices and software selection and implementation.
• Proficiency in technical solution design and documentation and the ability to interpret technical designs.
• Thorough attention to detail.
• Risk identification and management skills.
• Experience of working in B2B as well as a D2C environment.
• Strong analytic, planning and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and the ability to tailor messages appropriately to your audience.

• Significant experience and involvement in projects and change programmes – large and small.
• Familiarity with various methodologies including Agile.
• Product management experience.
• Software architecture design.
• SOA webservices, APIs and microservices design and delivery
• Background including data platforms, CRM, telephony, and online solutions.
• Demonstrable experience and evidence of success in business change with a strong technology focus with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Ability to manage outsourced providers against agreed deliverables.

This is a hybrid role 2 days in your local office/3 days working from home.

We have offices in London, Milton Keynes and Leeds so you would need to be located in a commutable distance from one of these offices.
