You and your role

We are looking for a Qualified ACCA/ACA Accountant to join our team. Your role will involve the below:

• Supervise and review the financial month end close process for the Staysure group with particular focus on meeting reporting deadlines and review of journal postings and other work performed by junior members of the team.
• Lead and manage 3 direct reports and overall assist the junior members of the team whenever required
• Develop plans to significantly reduce the time taken to complete the month-end process and reporting outputs
• Identify and assist with the implementation of systems and processes to automate and develop the finance controls team strategy
• Develop and maintain the Group accounting policies in line with FRS 102 to keep abreast with changes in accounting standards
• Key contact for external auditors and liaising with auditors to ensure timely completion of the group legal entities statutory accounts
• Support the design and implementation of a robust control environment focussed on risk management and strong internal control framework
• Deliver new ways of working, with the ability to challenge the status quo through the use of initiative, creativity and innovative thinking.
• Personal credibility as the leader, with the ability to provide strong leadership, motivation and direction for junior members of the team.

Essential Experience:

• ACCA/ACA Qualified
• Technical Accountancy experience
• IFRS/FRS/UK GAAP experience
• VAT and Corporation tax experience
• Experience working with group consolidations, accounts preparation audit in either practice or industry
• Process and policy improvement
• Extensive external audit process experience
• Experience of working with multiple legal entities
• Experience working in or auditing large or complex environments
• Experience of control and process design, testing and reporting

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in treasury functions
• Experience within a regulated sector with reporting and financial compliance background
• Sage X3, ZAPP, VENA systems experience
