Job Opportunity: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant at Ofsted Good Secondary School in Stockport

Are you a recent Psychology graduate with a passion for education and supporting students' learning and development? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted Good secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position offers stability from after Easter until the end of the academic year, with the potential for permanent placement based on exceptional performance.

Role Overview: As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing academic and pastoral support to students while gaining valuable experience in the field of education. Your responsibilities will include:
- Classroom Support: Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and providing support to individual students or small groups, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
- Behaviour Management: Implementing positive behaviour management strategies to promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a culture of respect and cooperation among students.
- Learning Support: Supporting students with additional learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
- Mentoring and Guidance: Providing guidance and mentoring to students, offering emotional support, and helping them develop resilience and coping strategies to overcome challenges.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assisting teachers in collecting and analyzing data on student progress and behaviour, providing valuable insights to inform teaching and support strategies.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans for students, ensuring their specific needs are addressed effectively.
- Professional Development: Engaging in professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in education and psychology, paving the way for future career advancement.

Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting students' academic and personal development.
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
