Legal Cashier / Junior Accounts Assistant
A prominent and well-respected law firm is currently seeking a Legal Cashier / Junior Accounts Assistant to join the team.Job Description:
As a Legal Cashier / Junior Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in the firm's finance department, ensuring the efficient management of financial transactions, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the smooth operation of the firm's financial processes.
You will work closely with the Finance Director and other members of the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Posting legal costs on the Practice Management software
Posting purchase ledger invoices to the accounting software
Assisting with sales invoice preparation and administration
Verification of new bank payee details and assisting with property completion schedules
Preparation of bank payments for authorisation
Providing back-up and holiday cover to other accounts staff
Preparation of time breakdowns for sending with sales invoices
Allocation of pre-paid income on a monthly basis
General administrative duties in the case management system
Assist with compliance of SRA accounts rules in maintaining and reviewing client balances
Other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications and Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year experience as a legal cashier / junior accounts assistant in a similar finance role in a law firm/professional services firm .
Proficiency in legal accounting software and general financial software applications.
Knowledge of SRA accounts rules and other regulatory requirements (beneficial).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
A relevant finance or accounting qualification is desirable.
