Raymarine is a market leader in design & manufacture of leisure marine electronics. Our products include: Digital Marine Cartography, Navigational Displays, Radar, Sonar, Thermal & Visible Cameras, Instruments, Ship Control Systems and many other leading-edge technology products.
We are enhancing both our Marine and Automated testing capabilities to leverage faster time to market for new product introductions, whilst maintaining our high-quality reputation and we are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.
Raymarine UK Ltd are looking for a full time Product Assurance Engineer to be a part of our highly experienced Engineering team based at our Fareham Office, UK. The successful candidate will be an experienced engineer with combined marine experience who will be able to apply their skills to ensure our products and features are fit for purpose, easy to use and robust. Product testing will be carried out in development and acceptance environments, using manual and automated test tools and processes. Working closely with the software development and test teams, the Product Assurance Engineer will be a key contributor to the overall success of releasing products on time, cost and quality.
Responsibilities Include:
Input to requirements capture for assigned projects from a mariners and/or test perspective
Develop, create and conduct complex test plans that can be used by other team members to assess product performance & reliability
Engineering QA – provide resource to control product build status/highlight issues within product development
Benchmarking – conduct comparison/benchmark tests as a part of research & development for new and potential products
Quality policy – ensure all activities meet the spirit of the policy
Training – identify additional training appropriate for current or future work
Carry out and contribute to risk assessments regarding issues from a mariner or users perspective
Provide coverage & status reports for executed tests
To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have:
A high level of technical discipline (electrical, electronic or software test)
Significant experience in a relevant technical role (eg: Electronics engineer)
Significant experience in a relevant marine domain role (eg: RYA Instructor)
Experience with scripting skills eg: Python
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Fluent in English, both verbal and written
Relevant software testing experience would be a bonus
Use of test tools such as Jira
