Head of Performing Arts Department with Physical Education Specialism

Step Teachers are currently working with a school that are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join their team as the Head of Performing Arts Department (HOD Performing Arts). This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the schools performing arts program and make a lasting impact within our organization. The role will require a specialist in Physical Education and is set to commence after the Easter break.

Location: Haringey

Responsibilities:

• As the Head of Performing Arts, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to our performing arts department, overseeing all aspects of its operation.
• Collaborate with a team of passionate educators and staff members, guiding them to achieve our shared vision of excellence in performing arts education.
• Develop and implement innovative curriculum enhancements that inspire creativity, foster artistic growth, and meet the evolving needs of our students.
• Work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to integrate performing arts into interdisciplinary initiatives and school-wide events.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and safety standards to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Education, Arts Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven leadership experience in performing arts education, with a number of years in a managerial or teaching leadership role.
• As Head of Performance Art you will need a deep understanding of various performing arts disciplines, including theater, music, dance, and technical production.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the performing arts community.
