Your office base will be in Worcester (only attend twice a month) and you will cover a caseload across Telford, Shropshire, and Wolverhampton. Position: Supervising Social Worker
Location: Shropshire
Salary: Up to £39,000
Hours: Full-time
Our client is dedicated to providing outstanding support to young people and those involved in the fostering system. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping children find safe and loving homes and ensuring the well-being of your foster carers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support and supervision to foster carers.
- Identifying, assessing, and monitoring the suitability and competence of foster carers.
- Matching children with appropriate long or short-term fostering placements.
- Finding permanent, loving families for children unable to return home.
- Offering support, counseling, and therapeutic interventions to foster families.
- Assisting foster carers in their care duties for children in care.
- Working towards achieving the best outcomes for children and families while promoting community sustainability.
- Fulfilling statutory duties in accordance with National Fostering Standards and Regulations.
- Maintaining a solid understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
To be a successful Supervising Social Worker, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- SWE registration
- At least 2 years of experience in fostering and/or adoption
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends
- A valid UK driver's license and access to a vehicle
- A social work degree or equivalent qualification
