Role: Design Manager
Location: Essex
Setup: Hybrid, Mix of Office and Project Based
Client: National Tier 1 build contractor
Employment Type: Permanent Role
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Managing the design process using your commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise.
- Supporting, understanding and advising the client as to the requirements and obligations in the development of a building design.
- Encouraging and inspiring design consultants to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources and talents in a cost effective way.
- Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate.
- Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
- Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of working upon a variety of new build and refurbishment construction projects
- Considerable experience in a project running role for other Main Contractors on project £10M+.
- Have a proven track record of delivery while displaying commercial awareness.
- Be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, as well as effective communication skills when dealing with internal and external resources.
- Have a good knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety.
