Job description

Our client is a leading utility organisation and are one of the largest regulated water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. They provide over eight million people with fresh, clean drinking water every day and with an investment strategy of £6bn on new and existing assets such as pipes, treatment works and reservoirs, hiring the best talent is always a priority.

They are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis in Warwickshire or Derbyshire.

The Role

The Lead Electrical Engineer will form part of the Design function as the business shifts towards operating as the Expert Client in the Capital Delivery & Commercial Organisation, there is a need to grow and develop the Design capability and expertise, the standards for the design team, and the governance around design delivery and ensure these align with the benefits this delivers to the business.

With input from senior leaders and the Chief Engineer and elsewhere in design, this role will determine how the team works and the standards they adopt.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Electrical Engineer:

The Person

You will be a proactive individual who is fully conversant with tackling issues head on and developing a plan to overcome potential obstacles. Able to create medium term plans to facilitate the creation of plans that will ultimately drive benefits in regards to efficiencies and design.

The role will undoubtedly produce various challenges and therefore an ability to make swift, yet educated decisions in the face of ambiguity is a must coupled with highly effective communication skills in order to best utilise both positive and challenging messages.

The successful incumbent will have the tools to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ascertain their input to ensure the best possible outcome. An ability to create, build and maintain key relationships within the business and from a customer and supplier aspect will be expected to drive efficiency and innovation.
