Job description

Job title:Superintendent Radiographer Salary:Competitive and dependent on experience Hours:Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week Location:Romford The Outer North East London Breast Screening Service (ONEL BSS) provides the NHSBSP for women living in Barking, Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge who are invited for screening once every three years. The static breast screening unit is currently located at the InHealth Community Clinic-Romford provides an invaluable community screening and second stage screening. What you will do: As a Superintendent Radiographer you will provide a high-quality imaging service to all users of the service and screen women for breast cancer by mammography. You will participate in assessment clinics including stereotacticbiopsies and participate in the support of development of assistant practitioners. What you are responsible for: Taking high quality mammograms Demonstrate active involvement in the recruitment, appointment, and induction ofnew staff Deal with day to day staff queries, liaising with appropriate support functions whererequired to resolve the queries within a reasonable timeframe Participating in the units Quality Assurance Programme and taking remedial action when necessary Preparing and assisting in biopsy procedures including targeting for stereotactic examinations Ensuring enough supplies are available at mobile sites and arrange transportation if necessary Being competent in the use of all clinical equipment used by the Service Keeping up to date with current trends and techniques in mammography Being able to deal with nervous or anxious clients Recording clinical observations Being confident and professional when positioning women who are naked from the waist up Being able to enter all quality assurance data on the computer Dealing with equipment malfunction and know when to suspend its use Maintaining a current CPD portfolio Identifying images suitable for teaching purposes Abiding by the Ionising Radiation Regulations. You should apply if you have experience: Experience in leading and managing teams BSc in Radiography PG Cert in Mammography Current HCPC registration Working within a hospital or mobile environment Working with NHSBSP or Breast Symtomatic services Working within a multi-disciplined team Experience working with Imaging Equipment Working with PACS or RIS
