Junior Data Engineer - Microsoft Technologies

SQL, Technology Stack, Power BI, and ideally DAX

West Midlands, Shropshire, Staffordshire

Currently working on a legacy platform, the client requires a motivated and proactive data engineer with 1-2 years' minimum experience to add value to the current Data Team on both BAU work and a variety of data projects.

There are multiple opportunities to learn new skills as well as be given training from the Technical Team Leader, therefore your technical portfolio will increase substantially within this role.

Essential skills:

• Solid understanding of BI techniques and practices using the MS technology stack
• Power BI,and DAX experience
• 1+ year experience with SQL, or T-SQL
• Some experience of ADF and Databricks a serious advantage

Roles and responsibilities:

• Support Legacy Data Warehouse: Bug fixes, batch ETL processing and data related queries. The Legacy DW is hosted on an on-premise SQL server
• Improve ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
• Develop and maintain datasets. This could be via external APIs, other cloud platforms, flat files etc.
• Support and enhance new Azure data platform: Ingesting data into the medallion architecture using ADF and Databricks.
