37 Hours per week






We are looking an experienced and committed Social Work Practitioners to join our regional forensic social work team at Caswell Clinic. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to work within our Forensic service, focussing on individual outcomes for individuals with a range of complex needs. You will be required to work to social work standards specific to secure services and manage your performance within the legal framework of this area of mental health practice.

Experience in the field of mental health is preferred but not essential. You may have transferable skills and attributes which meet the needs of the service.

You will work with an established multi agency clinical team across the health boards and local authorities in South Wales. Work will include supporting vulnerable individuals in an inpatient setting and in the community. You will be part of the social work team in Caswell Clinic which allows areas of specific interest to be developed and you will have access to specialist training as well as opportunities to deliver training to a wider cohort.






You will hold a complex caseload of individuals who may present with complex trauma, attachment disorder, severe distress, emotional disregulation and who may challenge care givers. You will be a resilient and boundaried individual, able to work in a challenging environment. You will need to have effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing representing the needs of the patients with integrity and sensitivity to the needs of the service.






The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in Social Work and significant post qualification in mental health practice.






The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.






Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.






Criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.






A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
