Our client is looking for an IT Support Specialist for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.
The role will be based in the Aberdeen facility, providing IT support services to the office as well as to the wider group and reporting to the IT Data Manager whilst also taking direction from the IT & Data Management Support Specialist based in Aberdeen.

Our client is looking for an IT Support Specialist for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.
ROLE
The role will be based in the Aberdeen facility, providing IT support services to the office as well as to the wider group and reporting to the IT Data Manager whilst also taking direction from the IT & Data Management Support Specialist based in Aberdeen.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer Windows and Linux based systems.
- Provide technical support to users remotely and in-person.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), virtual private networks (VPN), and wireless networks (Wi-Fi). Perform routine technology maintenance, backups, reports, and notices.
- Continuously monitor and troubleshoot network and systems stability and performance.
- Assist with planning and coordination of IT-related purchases.
- Administer virtual machines in Hyper-V and VMware environments.
- Manage user accounts in Microsoft 365.
- Administer Microsoft 365 environment including Azure AD, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
- Administer other cloud-based services such as Asana, Slack, etc.
- Document technical solutions to identified issues.
- Backup and synchronization of project data.
- Monitoring disk usage and performing cleanup as required.
- Other related duties in the IT department.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications / Experience
- Must be academically eligible. (Possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.)
- Previous experience in an office setting would be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 administration, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure Active Directory.
- Experience with Windows 10/11, Server 2016, and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization packages such as Hyper-V and VMWare.
- Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) configuration, network protocols and equipment.
- Familiarity with cloud-computing technologies.
- Familiarity with industry standard virtualization environments.
- Basic scripting
