Overview
The role reports into the Senior Finance Business Partner for Birds Eye UK, a £750m turnover business unit and the biggest and most profitable in the NOMAD Foods Europe Group. The Commercial Finance Executive will sit within the Commercial Finance team and provide accurate and timely advice to the UK Sales teams (Sales and Marketing) whilst ensuring proper financial controls are adhered to.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for various reporting tasks within the Commercial Finance Function and ensure adequate cover across reporting tasks alongside other finance executives and finance graduates - including but not limited to, daily sales reporting, releases process, lump sums.
- Support delivery of annual Net Sales and EBITDA targets through on-going monitoring and review of customer performance KPIs (both financial and non-financial) with the sales team
- Be the lead finance contact and business partner to your account in the Commercial Sales team supporting with commercial analysis and decision making in line with business strategy.
- Support on SOX processes managed by Commercial Finance Team ensuring all deadlines are met and controls completed in line with CAPD and RACMs. This includes liaising with internal and external auditors, ongoing improvement of current controls and evidence retention.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the UK commercial team and Group Finance, including investigation of variances to Plan and provide insights and commentary.
- Management of promotional rebates – ensure all promotional rebates are created on a timely basis, reconciled monthly and authorised in accordance with Company policy.
- Assist in SOX compliance, educating & advising the sales function on SOX best practice with a view of continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to ensure data integrity in the various business systems (SAP and Exceedra)
- Support with annual audit, liaising with external auditors, uploading evidence onto the external audit system, and responding to audit queries.
- Any other ad-hoc tasks required to meet the needs of the Sales and Commercial Finance teams.
Qualifications
Essential
- Working towards an accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
- Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
