Job Introduction

An opportunity has become available for a Network Infrastructure Manager (Radio & SCADA) reporting to the design manager of National Grid Telecoms with a base to be agreed within NGEDs operational area.

The Network Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for leading on the overall design of the National Grid Telecoms Radio and SCADA systems, including policy documentation and development in a fast and evolving product space. The successful applicant will ensure our network remains a high quality, cost effective and reliable service whilst seeking future solutions, therefore experience in Radio & SCADA infrastructure would be highly beneficial.

*Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities

You’ll be results driven, maintaining excellent standards of service to ensure the Radio and SCADA networks that support the Control and Visibility of the high-voltage electricity network meet the requirements of our parent company National Grid.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be expected to have a detailed knowledge and understanding on Radio and SCADA solutions, including both mobile and fixed network assets. The role will involve travel across National Grid Distribution operational areas, managing your own diary with occasional travel outside of the area including occasional overnight stays.

You should be an experienced leader, committed to providing efficient and effective customer service with excellent communication skills.

Ideally qualified to Higher BTEC or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering, however applications are also encouraged from colleagues that consider themselves suitable to make a success of this opportunity. We’ll need to see evidence of your qualifications. The successful applicant may be required to undertake standby duties in accordance with an agreed rota.
