We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant who will be responsible for our porter service to the wards, topping-up ward stocks, receiving deliveries and providing administration support for the Procurement and Distribution Team.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team of Pharmacy Assistants by assisting the Dispensary, Purchasing and Distribution team with other tasks when required to safely deliver medicines within the hospital.
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of spoken and written English, basic Maths, basic IT and good communication skills in order to deal with a wide variety of pharmacy staff and ward staff. You should be able to follow procedures closely and be able work well in a team to provide a high-quality patient-focused service
You should have a good level of education to at least GCSE level and be able to demonstrate good computer skills and excellent communication skills.
You must be able to work as part of a team and under your own initiative; have a desire to work within the pharmacy profession and have a willingness to learn.

• To assist in the provision of a high-quality Pharmacy porter service to the Trust.
• To participate in the Ward Top Up service on a regular basis.
• To provide administration support for the Pharmacy Procurement team
• The post holder will be required to participate in the Ward top up service on a regular basis.
• Provide planned and un-planned cover for the Pharmacy Storekeeper
Pharmacy Storekeeper Duties such as:
• Receipt of goods
• Stock control
• Issuing stock
• Pharmacy Assistant/Procurement Support Duties.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire.

In February 2022 the significant progress that has been made at QEH was recognised by the Care Quality Commission who rated the Trust as ‘Good’ in all of the core services they inspected. They recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
