Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and energetic individual to work with the Speech and Language Therapy team, required to cover inpatient caseload at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital primarily, but will be cross site with West Middlesex.

This is a senior post with clinical responsibility for children with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties. The post holder will assess, diagnose, and manage own specialist caseloads of complex patients as an autonomous clinician in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations. The post holder will participate in the development and delivery of training to others and provide support to Speech and Language Therapy team members regarding clients presenting with complex communication and swallowing disorders associated with acute medical and neurological conditions.

Based primarily within the Stroke Unit on the Chelsea and Westminster site.

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

• Member of RCSLT
• Clinical supervisory skills training
• 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years
• You will need to pass an enhanced background check
  

Essential criteria

HCPC Registration in Speech and Language Therapy

Paediatric dysphagia experience in the acute wards

Desirable criteria

Neonatal dysphagia assessment and management

VF assessment and interpretation
