Job description
Could you be Incommunities new Head of Income Collection? You will be responsible for leading and managing the income collection team, ensuring the efficient and effective collection of rental income across Incommunities homes. This is an exciting opportunity to join Incommunities as our strategic lead, developing an organisational strategy for maximising income collection opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the income collection team to ensure the efficient and effective collection of rental income across Incommunities’ property portfolio.
- Motivate and oversee a sizable team of income collection colleagues, establishing clear objectives and performance metrics to ensure timely collection of rental and associated payments.
- Act as the primary strategic lead on income, fostering effective communication and collaboration across departments to develop a comprehensive organisational strategy for maximising income collection opportunities.
- Work closely with ICT and data teams to implement innovative technologies aimed at enhancing collection rates and reducing debt, leveraging advanced reporting and payment processing methods, and refining arrears case management.
- Enhance accessibility to and utilisation of performance and service data to gain deeper insights into business, team, and individual performance, improving the quality of customer experience and supporting enhanced arrears management.
- Establish mechanisms for gathering detailed customer feedback on income collection services, utilising this information to enhance overall customer experience.
- Collaborate with customer and community support teams to ensure tenants facing financial difficulties are directed towards appropriate internal and external resources to assist in maintaining their tenancy.
- Oversee the collection of arrears from former tenants, reviewing current strategies and exploring alternative approaches as necessary.
- Manage the income collection budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to approved expenditure limits

Requirements
- Experience of successfully leading and motivating large housing teams in an income collection related field.
- Possession of a relevant professional qualification such as CIH, or a strong willingness to pursue one.
- Extensive up to date knowledge of housing legislation, regulation, policy and practice.
- A commitment to providing high quality customer services and meeting diverse customer needs.
- Strong financial and budget management skills and a commitment to achieving value for money.
- Comprehensive understanding of the present challenges confronting the social housing sector, particularly relating to the cost of living, rental dynamics, service charges, and welfare benefits.
- Proven track record of identifying and delivering significant service and performance improvements that takes account the needs of diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to assess risk, make difficult decisions and deliver results whilst adhering to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.
