Job description
Senior Global Medical Director
Lead Medical Affairs across Europe and the Middle East whilst also acting as the Country Medical Director for the UK. You will lead the development and execution of impactful and innovative Medical Plans for a new drug launch in close partnership with other key business functions such as Commercial and Clinical Development. You will act as a core member of the Senior Medical Leadership Team, contributing to the development of the Global Medical Affairs strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership to your Medical team with a strong focus on excellence in the development and execution of TA strategies to deliver optimized patient outcomes.
Management of Cluster and UK Medical budgets.
Ensure all activities are in the best interests of patients and fully compliant with ABPI code of practice and other relevant Regulations and Codes.
Ensure strong cross functional business leadership and strategic partnership as UK Country Medical Director and a key member of the UK Leadership Team.
Support and coach the Country Medical Directors within Europe and Middle East with a focus on development of talent and key capabilities.
Ensure all Global Medical Systems are fully embedded in the Cluster by working closely with the Global Medical Operations team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with KEEs, institutions and medical societies.
Additional ResponsibilitiesProvide expert medical support and guidance as appropriate, in key areas including concepts, strategies, tactics, and promotional and non-promotional activities.
Work closely with various scientific teams in your region (e.g. Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Quality and Clinical Development) to ensure an aligned approach.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure company standards are met.
RequirementsMD or equivalent
Extensive experience as an ABPI Final Signatory
Must have previous clinical practice experience, with a significant background in Medical Affairs
Previous experience as a Country Medical Director in a major market
Fluent in English
Must have previously managed teams and coached for performance
Launch experience essential
