About us
Bradford's National Science and Media Museum (NSMM)'s Pictureville cinema operation houses 3 screens including Europe's first IMAX. The NSMM Pictureville cinema (300 seats) and Cubby Broccoli cinema (100 seats) screen the best of independent cinema with selected mainstream titles and a Screen Arts programme. IMAX (218 seats) screens the best feature titles available in IMAX format and a regular programme of shorter educational IMAX films for museum families and pre-booked groups.
The Screen Team, led by the Head of Screen & Cultural Engagement, are a key stakeholder in our cinema operation. They focus on programming, audience development and special events, working closely with the operational cinema team to deliver a rich and diverse programme of cinema screenings and events.
About the role
As Cinema Manager, you will lead the commercial and operational aspects of our Pictureville Cinema. Your overall focus will be to enhance the customer experience; with maximised income and profit being the natural result of a positive, well planned, and managed cinema operation.
Providing operational direction and motivation to a wider Cinema Team, you will empower them to deliver a successful commercial cinema, including add-on sales from Food & Beverage and memberships. By setting clear vision, objectives and demonstrating the behaviours of a great leader, your team will celebrate the magic of cinemagoing by provide a high level of visitor experience and meeting commercial KPIs.
You will have a significant impact on the organisation, working with the Head of Commercial Experiences and Head of Screen & Cultural Engagement to deliver year on year business growth.
As the Cinema Manager you will be required to work across the hours that the cinema and museum are open, with a varying shift pattern each week depending on priorities. The role will involve duty management shifts, including some evenings and weekends.

About you
With experience managing in a commercial operations previously, you have what it takes to lead a team to deliver excellent customer experience and generate a positive team culture.
You'll be comfortable with managing and reviewing budgets, and bring an understanding of how to lead a team to exceed sales and profit targets in a competitive commercial environment.Don't feel you meet all the criteria?
