A Senior Accounts and Tax professional to play a crucial role in managing financial accounts and ensuring compliance with tax regulations within our client's organisation. Here are some key responsibilities and skills associated with this role:

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Tax Compliance: Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, and ensure that the organisation complies with all applicable tax requirements. Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.

Audit Support: Assist in both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial and tax-related matters.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate in the development of budgets and forecasts, helping to guide financial decision-making.

Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and tax processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls.

Communication: Effectively communicate financial information to internal stakeholders, management, and external parties such as auditors and tax authorities.

Compliance Monitoring: Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Tax Expertise: In-depth knowledge of tax regulations, including corporate tax, income tax, and other relevant tax laws.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.

Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail is critical to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software and tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Problem-Solving: Adept at identifying issues, solving problems, and making informed decisions.

Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey financial information clearly to various stakeholders.

Leadership: Depending on the organisational structure, the role may involve leadership responsibilities, overseeing a team or collaborating with other departments.

Continuous Learning: Given the dynamic nature of accounting and tax regulations, a commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated on industry changes is essential.
