Teacher of Arts

St Andrew's C of E High School

Location

West Sussex | United Kingdom

Job description

We are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner to join our growing Arts team. The successful candidate will join a strong team of experienced practitioners. There is significant opportunity to grow professionally within this team, and to play a large role in supporting the school grow as a whole. Art outcomes are truly excellent, with the highest progress across the school. The curriculum itself is broad, incorporating our drive to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. Drama and Music are growing in popularity at KS4 following the recent review and adaption of the curriculums.

We are looking to grow our GCSE options offer, and therefore candidates who are able to teach Photography, Media Studies or other subjects would be encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach across the arts, with their main subject being Art.

St Andrew’s is a school that has love at its core. You see it in the relationships between staff and students; both in the classrooms and the corridors; and in the excellent pastoral care that every student is given. I have heard many describe being part of our school community as being like ‘family’; both giving and receiving unrelenting love. Our core Christian values run through all that we do, both in daily life and in strategic development.

We are looking to appoint an excellent and dynamic classroom practitioner who has an aspirational vision that will inspire our young people and staff. The successful candidate will have a positive and solution focused approach, applying a ‘can do’ attitude to any potential challenges and a desire to change the lives of young people for the better.

It truly is an exciting time to join St Andrew’s. Whilst considerable growth and progress has been made in recent years, there is still so much impact to be made as the school goes from strength to strength.  We would be delighted to show you around the school and/or offer a chance to meet the team; to arrange a visit, please contact use via email: [email protected]
