Tottenham Hotspur Foundation (the Foundation) is a registered charity and the community arm of Premier League football club, Tottenham Hotspur. The Club, through the Foundation, seeks to use the power and unique appeal of football to provide opportunities that change lives throughout its local community.
The Foundation is based at the Grade II-listed 18 th century Percy House on Tottenham High Road – painstakingly restored by the Club as part of the wider sport-led regeneration of the area. We are driven by a passion for creating positive change in people’s lives within an area of significant socio-economic deprivation, yet where a vibrancy and richness of talent and ambition exists. The Foundation harnesses and builds on this through a range of projects and initiatives to pursue, achieve and sustain desired impacts and outcomes, utilising partnerships within the private, not-for-profit and public sectors.
The Foundation is seeking School Coach to deliver high-quality programmes in schools in the Spurs Heartlands and to contribute to the wider work of the Foundation in these areas.
JOB PURPOSE
The School Coach will be integral in the planning and delivery of all aspects of our bespoke enrichment programmes, delivered to primary and secondary schools throughout the local boroughs.
The programmes are designed to cover several areas of the national curriculum including physical education, numeracy, literacy, as well as personal, social and health education (PSHE). The post holder will also have a responsibility to support teachers during their engagement with our Premier League school programmes, Primary Stars and Inspires.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high quality, tailored lessons to 5–16-year olds and teachers according to the needs of each school.
- Maintain external relationships with accrediting bodies, funders, such as the Premier League, schools, and other partners.
- Support the content design and delivery of education activations, workshops, collapsed curriculum days, tournaments, competitions, and sports days at schools across our four main boroughs - Haringey, Enfield, Waltham Forest and Barnet.
- Deliver high impact inclusive sessions to participants with varying abilities and needs including SEND needs, in both secondary and primary schools including mentoring, group interventions, whole school assemblies, recreational sport sessions and educational sessions (in literacy, numeracy and PSHE workshops).
- Support the Education Manager in the collaboration with schools to set session delivery plans and ensure that individual school requirements are met in terms of planning and assessment and positive impact.
- Support and develop teaching professionals in their ability to deliver PE and high-quality football and multi-sports as part of our PL Primary Stars programme, in line with the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1 and 2.
- Deliver across Foundation holiday programmes and additional project sessions where required.
- Manage data capture on the data platform used by the Foundation, including participant and teacher questionnaires, outcome surveys, feedback and case studies.
- Report all safeguarding/welfare issues, concerns, or allegations to the Foundation Safeguarding Manager and commit to following the Foundation’s safeguarding procedures and policies, and ensure you are familiar with the safeguarding platform ‘My Concern’.
- Adhere to all emergency procedures and the Health & Safety at Work Act relating to the various sites.
- Attend internal training and attend additional CPD opportunities with the PLCF when necessary.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Combined L3 Teaching Assistant & L4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant specialising in PE qualification. Alternatively, an AfPE Level 3 in PESSPA qualification or teaching qualification equivalent. The willingness to complete the course(s) as quickly as possible if successful.
- Minimum UEFA C Licence (formerly known as FA Level 2 in Coaching Football) or above sports coaching qualification
- Experience of working with children aged between 5-16 in a school or community environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to establish and maintain good working relationships.
DESIRABLE
- FA Mentoring adults qualification
- FA Qualifications - UEFA B, FA Youth Modules, Goalkeeping, Futsal.
- Experience of leading CPD / Teacher or Coach Education.
- Additional NGB qualifications in other sports, eg, basketball, tennis, netball, athletics, gymnastics, hockey.
- Experience of delivering or supporting curriculum-based activity within a classroom setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of STEM based educational initiatives
