Group Financial Accountant

Belfast

My Client is a leading Energy group of companies and are recruiting for a Group Financial Accountant to support the Head of Finance and take the lead in statutory reporting, dealing with complex technical accounting issues, overall responsibility for internal controls.

This role will be ideal for an analytical accountant with good commercial acumen and will be part of an experienced team responsible for providing a complete commercial, accounting, reporting and financial modelling resource for the group, including the preparation and presentation of financial records and management information, reporting to financiers, providing accounting support to major projects and price control submissions.

Key Responsibilities

· Preparation of the Statutory Accounts & supporting Monthly Management Accounts for Group

· Preparation of the finance report to the board

· Manage the risk management process

· Developing the group’s governance framework and ensuring appropriate internal policies and procedures with adequate controls are in place.

· Developing group-wide review and audit processes to ensure these are carried out in a consistent manner at a suitable frequency with appropriate reporting in place;

· Co-ordinating tax compliance strategy.

· Ensuring full compliance with all financing document requirements, including regular reporting and ad-hoc notifications and consents as required;

· Building and maintaining effective relationships with the group’s financiers and Regulatory bodies

· Supporting the finance team on ad-hoc projects, technical matters and Board reporting as required.

The Ideal Candidate

· Fully qualified accountant, ideally with 2 years or more post qualification experience.

· Strong technical accounting knowledge

· Strong analytical and commercial acumen

· Good tax knowledge/experience, although not essential, would be an advantage.
