The role
Thorn is looking for a  Health & Safety Manager to provide operational leadership on Health & Safety ensuring operations continuously develops and implements best practice across the business 

The main accountabilities of the role are:

• Monitor and review the Health & Safety function across the business to achieve compliance with all legislative requirements.
• Develop, formulate and periodically review the Health & Safety initiatives and ensure they are supported with management systems and objectives.
• Lead the process of retaining certification to ISO14001 and ISO45001.
• Carry out Health & Safety Inspections and Audits and ensure follow up actions and non-conformances are completed/closed out.
• Identify, support and participate in improvement activities, leading activities as required and presenting to the management team.
• Co-ordinate and deliver comprehensive health, safety and environmental training.
• Management and personal development of the Health & Safety team.

Your profile What we are looking for

• A strong understanding and experience of working with ISO14001/ISO45001.
• Experience of working in HSE role in a fast paced manufacturing environment that has manual and automated machinery.
• A keen eye for detail and a good communicator with excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Good standard of Literacy, Numeracy and Communication skills.
• Knowledge of how sustainability is impacting manufacturing businesses and how it affects HSE would be an added benefit.
