Job Description
At Frasers Group Financial Services, we are constantly evolving & transforming, and we now have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an ambitious Business Risk Analyst join our business in a first line of defence role which will support the Business Risk Management function to help deliver and embed the Risk Management Framework.
The role holder will support multiple departments and the Business Risk Managers in undertaking ongoing risk management activities in line with the risk framework and agreed risk appetite. The role holder will also co-ordinate Risk reporting and ensure appropriate systems and MI is completed accurately and on time. Furthermore, the role holder will support the undertaking of robust control testing and monitoring as required, ensuring that these are operating effectively and supporting control owners where appropriate.
- Supporting the implementation and embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework for the Directorates you are assigned to, helping identify, assess, challenge, control, track and mitigate risks and issues
- Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships across the business and risk functions
- Promoting & facilitating risk awareness and understanding across the business
- Coordinating the development of robust risk reporting in the 1st line function, working with colleagues to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of MI reporting
- Monitoring risk information provided from risk and control data, and through the Business Risk Manager roles challenge the adequacy and completeness of the information generated, driving recommendations for improvement and obtaining management agreement to their implementation
- Analysing and validating effectiveness of controls by undertaking control testing as required
- Supporting Risk MI Reporting across a range of activity, generating reports and information adhering to defined templates (including the Dashboard Model) & deadlines
- Using reporting analysis to identify and escalate any actual or potential breaches in board-agreed risk appetite targets
- Supporting and managing the administrative support for the Risk Management System (Protecht) ensuring Risk and control data is accurate
- Supporting the Business teams to ensure fit for purpose and compliant controls are in place for Risks assessed as outside of appetite
- Ensuring business incidents and issues which affect departments are managed as per the Risk Management process, including root cause as required
- Supporting the Business Issues Manager as required
Qualifications
- Experience of coordinating and producing relevant risk MI and analysis for a wide range of audiences including Executive team.
- Experience of supporting regular review and oversight of the risk and control environment
- Experience of working within a Business team or Risk team, preferably within the financial services and /or retail industry
- The role requires a good level of technical knowledge across all areas of operational risk and applying this to business functions
- The ability to demonstrate analytic and reporting skills will be key for the individual to be successful in role
- Ability to diagnose and articulate material weaknesses in key controls and to identify proportionate and pragmatic solutions
- Experience of managing and working with risk and control frameworks within front line businesses would be an advantage
- Strong team working, relationship and stakeholder management skills required
- Effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the business, with the ability to translate complex or technical issues to suit target audience
- Analytical skills, along with an attention to detail and organisation skills that allow prioritisation of multiple deadlines
- Awareness and understanding of conduct risk, particularly in the delivery of fair customer outcomes
- Experience of undertaking root cause and good knowledge of Studio business desirable
